About us.
We purchased the Lanarkshire Models and Supplies (LMS) business in early 2007 after the original owners announced their intention to cease trading in mid 2006. LMS attended many Scottish modelling shows and became an important supplier of all those essential modelling tools, materials, components; bits and bobs. We (Nigel and Sarah Burkin) bring extensive experience in modelling and crafting, so will be able to provide the most knowledgeable service possible.
Our experience includes a great deal of activity on the exhibition circuit with two successful exhibition layouts and as a demonstrator. I (Nigel) am a regular contributor to British Railway Modelling, Model Rail and Traction magazines. I have written several books on railway modelling subjects including one on DCC with The Crowood Press and recently recorded two DVDs on Digital Command Control with Activity Media.
My wife Sarah is an experienced horticulturist and has extensive knowledge of crafting including large tapestry-making. She is the business brains behind Nairnshire Modelling Supplies.
